Stories & Writing journeys?

Hey readers! Its fun to open up my laptop screen and type away after a long time (as if I don't have final exams hanging over my head like a death threat). In case you've been one of my friends from grade 3 or earlier, you probably don't know much about my writing history, so I wanted to write about it since the topic is so close to my heart and since I barely get any more time to write nowadays.

It all started when I was a baby, my mom and dad used to tell me stories before they fell asleep leaving me to wonder about the little stories and the possibilities, after all a child's curiosity can never be contained.
I still remember, the stories always started with a "Once upon a time," and ended with "The end" or "And, they lived happily ever after". But no matter how often I heard the term "happily ever after" it always made me curious about what happened next. I'm pretty sure my parents must have been exhausted from my continuous questions about the ends and happy endings.

So stories always made me happy, whether it was a sad one or a happy one (Ironic considering now I would start sobbing if I reread "They both die at the end" one more time).

To this day, when my parents and I sit together, old memories rise back to the shore in form of stories, and their faces hold the bittersweet smiles of times passing but they also hold joy due to the fact that they were able to live in that moment. That's my motto in life I think, to live in the moment and be able to retell the story with a smile on my face some other day.

I wrote my first story in grade 4, I remember scribbling it down on a 'pin page' and showing it to my classmates, I don't remember if it was a trend at that time or if I just enjoyed it. But I do remember that it was quite an interesting story inspired by evil professors and ghosts.

I think I wrote some short stories here and there throughout 6th to 7th grade, and completely stopped by the time I reached 8th grade. Now here I was in ninth grade, trying again to share my thoughts and feelings by writing but for the first time, words had failed me. I always found it quite easy to just express what I thought, but from that point onwards, it became a mystery about formulating sentences and making or retelling stories.

I think our education system deserves a moment of appreciation from me since I always managed to come up with something entirely creative in the story writing section of my exams and always managed to get compliments from my teachers about the plot. I think I only performed well under pressure haha.

The current scenario of my writing skill is basically lying somewhere between beginner to average since I've lost my touch with words but I definitely have a better sense of humor. Perhaps once I'm done with high school I'll try to write more again.

That's the entire rant /venting session for today! Hope you guys enjoyed this.
Xoxo, gossip girl (I wish I was blair walfdorf I swear)
